Seoul - South Korea successfully developed the fourth generation mobile telecommunications system (4G)-based Long Term Evolution (LTE)-Advanced, which was claimed first in the world. Claimed super speed. South Korea's Ministry of Economy stated that state-owned institution, Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI), has successfully tested LTE-Advanced systems outside the laboratory. The result was promising. With this system, the user can download data at speeds up to 600 Mbps, download a 700MB movie file size in just 9.3 seconds only. Amazing. In a trial that has been done in korea, this technology is also used for 3D streaming on television in a car which is running about 40 miles per hour. The result is good. As quoted from Electronista, Friday (28/1/2010), the technology is still in early stages of development. Hopefully, LTE Advanced is to be applied en masse in South Korea around the year 2014.
